Kanica is a senior consultant in the Disarmament and International Security Affairs (D&ISA) Division of the Indian Ministry of External Affairs. She completed her PhD on India and Iran's Nuclear Programs at Jawaharlal Nehru University in New Delhi. She has participated as a speaker on issues of nuclear disarmament, non-proliferation, and arms control at national and international conferences and was, most recently, a visiting fellow at the Center for Nonproliferation Studies at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey.
